Messi managed to put the ball in the back of the net for the first time for FC Barcelona on May 1st 2005, less than five years ago, at the age of 17 years ten months. Now, at the age of only 22, in a match against Sevilla, Messi has scored his hundredth goal for the team. The same game produced Messi's 101st goal as well. This an achievement that very few professional soccer players realize in their lifetime. Scoring so many goals at such a young age means that Messi is now the youngest player to score 100 goals for Barca. Because of his young age, Messi will certainly have many more goals in his future.
Guardiola, Barca's Coach, told the media, "I congratulate him. It's outrageous to have done what he has at his age. It only depends on him to break all possible records. He has some very, very high numbers. What we like most is that his ambition has no limit. I feel that he wants more. He is a wonderful example to the future generations.''
